Topic: Introduction of art

Performance objectives: At the end of the lesson pupils should be able to:

  1. Explain the meaning of arts

Instructional material/Reference material: picture, real arts, pencils, crayons, drawing books, etc.

Building Background /connection to prior knowledge: Pupils are familiar with drawing.

CONTENT:

MEANING OF ARTS

Art is the expression of human imagination in the form of drawing.

 

1: Identify functional artwork used in the home

2: Illustrate a functional artwork 3: Apply one color to the object drawn

Assignment:

Identify 5 types of functional artwork in the home

 

WEEK 4/5              

Class: Basic 1

Topic: Meaning of craft

Performance objectives: At the end of the lesson pupils should be able to:

  1. define craft.
  2. identify craft.

Instructional material/Reference material: picture, real arts, pencils, crayons, drawing books etc.

Building Background /connection to prior knowledge: Pupils have been taught functional arts.

CONTENT:               

Definition of craft

Craft can be defined as an occupation that involves the hands.

Assessment and Evaluation

1.  Explain what craft is.

 

Assignment:

  1. What is craft?

 

 

WEEK 6/8              

Class: Basic 1

Topic: Types of Craft

Performance objectives: At the end of the lesson pupils should be able to:

  1. name different craftworks

2: identify different crafts in the home.

3: produce a colored diagram of a craft item.

Instructional material/Reference material: picture, real arts, pencils, crayons, drawing books etc.

Building Background /connection to prior knowledge: Pupils are familiar with art works in the home.
