CLASS: Basic Two

SUBJECT: Home Economics

TOPIC:  Revision

BEHAVIOURAL OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to remember the topics taught in the previous term

BUILDING A BACKGROUND: Pupils are familiar with the revised topics

REVISION OF LAST TERM’S WORK

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL: Pictures, charts and textbook

REFERENCE MATERIAL: Lantern Comprehensive Home Economics. Book 2

EVALUATION: Pupils are evaluated thus:

  1. Mention four object for decorating the home.

  2. What do we do in the toilet?

  3. Mention two types of toilet

  4. State two ways of cleaning the toilet.

CLASS: Basic Two

SUBJECT: Home Economics

TOPIC:  Body grooming

BEHAVIOURAL OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  1. Define body grooming

  2. State the ways of taking care of the body

CONTENT:

BODY GROOMING

 

Grooming refers to the things that people do to keep themselves clean. When we take good care of our body, we will look nice and our body will be free from germs.

We can take care of our body in the following ways:

TOPIC:  Craft

BEHAVIOURAL OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  1. Define craft

  2. Give some examples of crafts

  3. Make some paper craft

BUILDING A BACKGROUND: Pupils are familiar with some paper crafts e.g boat, aeroplane etc

 

CONTENT:

CRAFT

Craft is an activity involving skills in making things by hand. Examples are: bead making, sewing of dresses, decoration making, wood craft, paper craft jewelleries etc.

EVALUATION: Pupils are evaluated thus:

TOPIC:  Simple Healthy Snacks

BEHAVIOURAL OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  1. Define snacks

  2. Give examples of snacks

BUILDING A BACKGROUND: Pupils are familiar with

 

CONTENT:

SIMPLE HEALTHY SNACKS

Snacks are edible substances that we eat in between meals. Meals are more satisfying than snacks so that is why we shouldn’t take snacks as the normal meals we eat daily. We must not take too much of snacks or else, we lose our appetite. Examples of snacks are: chin chin, biscuits, apple, groundnut, popcorn, plantain chips, cakes, sandwiches etc

BEHAVIOURAL OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  1. identify sandwich and pancakes as snacks;

  2. mention some of their ingredients

BUILDING A BACKGROUND: Pupils have been eating pancakes and sandwiches

 

CONTENT:

SIMPLE HEALTHY SNACKS II

Bread sandwich is made of bread with fillings in it. The fillings may include: cucumbers, cabbage, carrots, mayonnaise, fish, butter, eggs etc

Pancake is made by frying a mixture of flour, milk, sugar, eggs,etc

EVALUATION: Pupils are evaluated thus:

TOPIC:  Food found in our locality

BEHAVIOURAL OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  1. define food

  2. mention some foods found in the locality

BUILDING A BACKGROUND: Pupils have been eating and can identify its importance as a source of energy

 

CONTENT:

FOODS FOUND IN OUR LOCALITY

Food is any edible substance which makes us to grow. It is very important that we eat because it supplies strength to our body. Examples of food in Nigeria are: Rice, Beans, Amala. Semo, Garri, etc
