HOW TO CONNECT WITH YOUR LEARNERS AS A TEACHER
Experts always make the extra effort to connect with each and every student. they use many strategies to get this done. I am a fan of name-calling as I have seen this work many times. when we call students by name, it sends a feeling of importance and gets the attention of such students. maintaining eye contact, a pat on the back during classwork if your school culture permits, and getting the students physically involved in a class activity are good ways to connect with your students. You will have to adapt your strategy to fit varying student personalities. whatever strategy you chose to employ, the end goal is the same. making sure that students feel a personal connection with their teacher and the class is the end goal. Students who don’t connect with their teachers also don’t connect with what the teacher is teaching. Therefore every teacher must be apt at creating a bond with the students. This bond could come in various ways but most important thing is to create it.
