CONTENT:
MEANING OF SOCIAL STUDIES
Social studies is the study of man and his environment. 
- Social Studies is the study of how man lives with other people in the society.
- Social Studies is the study of how man provides answers to his problems.
Assessment and Evaluation
1: Explain the meaning of social studies.
Wrap up (conclusion)
Teacher goes over the topic once again for better understanding.

TOPIC: Study of man and his environment

Man cannot live alone. He must play and talk with other people. Man has also made many things to make his life better. Some of these things are cars, houses, roads, books, bicycles and toys
Other things in our environment
They are other things we see in our environment. Those things were not made by us. They were created (made) by God. Examples are trees, rivers and mountains. We need trees in our compound to make our lives comfortable.
HOW HIS PROBLEMS ARE SOLVED IN THE ENVIRONMENT
- We fetch water from the river.
- We walk on the road.
- We sleep in the house.
- We use rock to build our roads.

TOPIC: Concept of family
